Thank you to Everette Walrath from Blue Bell FWB Church for speaking today at Influence. We had 60 students present today for our last meeting of this school year. Thank you also to Simple Simon's Pizza in Kellyville for providing the pizza for lunch.
Today was a bittersweet day for me as this was my last Influence to lead as the adult coordinator of the group. My husband has been transferred by his present employer to help clean up an area of the company that is in need of assistance. For right now it is unclear at how long the boys and I will remain in Kellyville, but felt it was best for the group to go ahead and resign my position so a new leader can take over at the beginning of the next school year.
Even though this move was not what we had planned, we know that thru all of the chaos that ultimately God has a plan for us and the next step in ministering again to another church in the area. I have been blessed to be a part of this ministry for the last five years (two of those with my husband Chris). During that time we have had numerous speakers volunteer their time, individuals, churches and business(es) volunteer meals to feed the group as well as numerous amounts of prayer and support from the community. I have spent the last few days reflecting on the accomplishments of this group and how the Lord has led and blessed each of the students who have attended each week. During the last five years we have had 350-400+ Kellyville High School students be a part of this group during their high school careers and countless students either started attending church because someone invited them to attend this group or they have been saved or rededicated their lives because someone from this group has witnessed to them. The Lord led us to hold two community youth rallies and we attended several Winter Jam concerts as a group. As a community we should all be very proud and thankful for this group as an additional outreach to our students.
To the past and present students, thank you so much for allowing me to help minister to you each week. To the Kellyville parents, thank you for supporting your students attending this group each week. To the volunteers, area churches, school and community leaders, thank you for your support, prayers and your dedication to serve the community thru this group. It is with many tears that I said goodbye today, but I know that this group will continue for many years to come and I cannot wait to hear all the wonderful new stories of growth, salvation, rededication and sheer love of the Lord that comes from having this group in Kellyville High School. To the present students, you may begin the year with a new adult coordinator, but your one true leader is Jesus Christ. Never take your eyes off of him and you will never go wrong!
God Bless You All,
Valerie Lindsey
