STEMI Wars Episode 1: The Phantom STEMI
This first in a series of cardiology classes geared towards EMS & other Emergency Providers starts next Wednesday night, Oct 16. Class is from 6-10pm and will focus on MI evolution, STEMI recognition, imposters and traditionally non-diagnostic rhythms.
Anyone interested may attend. As always with public safety con-ed, those with an emergency services affiliation (EMS, fire, and law enforcement) are fee exempt. All others must bring the $70 registration fee.
Registration will be at the beginning of class, and a second session will be held again on Wednesday, Oct 30 for anyone who could not attend the first offering.

STEMI WARS Episode I: The Phantom STEMI
Paramedics and other providers! Looking for an EKG class to freshen up on STEMI's recognition and imposters? Well look no further. This class, taught by our own Greg Carr, will cover STEMI recognition, as well as those dreaded imposters and traditionally "non-diagnostic" rhythms.
STEMI Wars Episode I: The Phantom STEMI will be held on Wed, Oct 16 and again on Wed, Oct 30 from 6-10pm in Williams Building, Room 107 (the EMS classroom). Emergency Medical Responder class will start on Tuesday night, September 24 at Calypso VFD. Class will meet on Tuesday & Thursday nights from 6-10pm, with the exception of Halloween night. There will also be one Saturday.

JSCC will be hosting SAR Topo Overview class on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 8am-5-pm. This class will cover the usage of online SAR Topographical mapping and is an essential part of any Search & Rescue function.
Anyone planning to take the course needs login to NC TERMS and register for the course. You may use the link below to do so.
1. Log on or create your ID, as needed.
2. Click on CALENDAR, choose July-2019, then click FIND OFFERINGS.
3. Scroll down to select the course and follow instructions.
8-hour Saturday class. Students must provide their own wireless internet-capable device (laptop, Ipad, etc.) Phones are not recommended.
Duplin County EMS and James Sprunt EMS Education are pleased to announce the we are hosting Trauma Night Out on Thursday, May 23, 2019. This event is sponsored by New Hanover Regional Medical Center and Airlink, and will feature local case studies with an emphasis on trauma practices and outcomes. Trauma Night Out is open to all Duplin County providers, paid or volunteer, and surrounding agencies.
This event will start at 6pm in Williams 100 (across from the EMS classroom), and a meal will be provided. Anyone planning to attend needs to email a headcount to Mark Casey at [email protected] before Monday, May 20, 2019.

Our accelerated daytime class starts June 18, meets on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday and finishes in 8 weeks.
Our nighttime class starts on June 25, meets on Tuesday & Thursday nights, and finishes in 21 weeks.

JSCC, in coordination with the Duplin County Search & Rescue Team, will be hosting NC Land Search Field Team Member on April 26, 27, 28 and May 10, 11, 12. Anyone interested should click on the link below for info and to register in NC TERMS. All students MUST register in TERMS prior to class.
The Land Search Field Team Member (FTM) is the foundation for response to a lost or missing person incident including ground search for a missing aircraft. James Sprunt and NCOEMS are pleased to host Post-Overdose Rapid Response Training on Friday, Feb 8. This course addresses what to do AFTER the overdose to hopefully prevent the next from happening.
This is a one-day course held here on campus aimed primarily at EMS, fire, law enforcement and other community health partners.
