Endorsement Update
In the Buffalo News article below Councilman Emminger was mistaken in his attempt to explain the reasons we have endorsed his opponents. As an elected official, he is failing to take responsibility for his actions. Since the current town board took office, five police positions have been cut. A sixth remains indefinitely vacant with no explanation. Additionally, positions often go unfilled for months at a time before being replaced. It remains to be seen if the Chief of Police will publicly stand with his officers in opposition to the council members who appointed him to his current position.
There are many other issues, including not having a signed contract since 2008 (not 2013 as mentioned in the article) which have caused us to support candidates Gigi Grizanti, Ann Morelli, and Michael Vishion for Town of Tonawanda Council. We will discuss these issues via our page and website in the very near future. Until then, The Town of Tonawanda Police Club is asking for YOUR help in the form of a show of support. Many officers and their families will be attending the Town Council meeting tomorrow night, Monday 10/21/13, at 7:30 P.M. where Police Club President Chris Kaiser will address the Town Board. We ask everyone who is able to join us at the meeting and don a “Police Club Supporter” T-shirt which we will provide. The meeting will take place at the Kenmore-Tonawanda Municipal Building at 2919 Delaware Avenue in Kenmore.
Whether or not you can attend, please visit this page frequently and share it with your friends and family; more information will be posted on a near-daily basis.
Thank you,
Town of Tonawanda Police Club
