The Mayor for a Day program offers students a behind-the-scenes look at city operations, from meeting department leaders and visiting city facilities to learning how decisions are made that impact residents every day. It's a unique opportunity to inspire civic engagement, leadership, and a greater understanding of public service.

🏁 Start & Finish Line: Coconut Beach

🚗 Runner Parking: Parking is available in the designated lot adjacent to Coconut Beach, as highlighted on the event map.

⚠️ Traffic Advisory:
Road closures and increased traffic are expected between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. along Winning Way and the lakefront area. Please allow extra travel time if traveling through Laketown this evening.

⚠️ TRAFFIC ADVISORY – NOTC Summer Series Run ⚠️

The New Orleans Track Club Summer Series Run is coming to Kenner on Tuesday, June 8. Motorists should plan for temporary road closures and increased traffic in the Laketown area between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

🚧 Road Closures:
• Winning Way
• Williams Boulevard to the Lakefront Levee along Winning Way

Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes if traveling in the area during the event.

⚠️ Access to the boat launch will be temporarily closed during the race.

We appreciate your patience as we welcome runners and visitors to Kenner for this community event.

The City of Kenner was pleased to attend a recent stakeholder gathering hosted by the Laketown Squadron at the Ochsner Sports Performance Center, bringing together community leaders, partners, and supporters to discuss the future of professional basketball in Kenner at the Ponchartrain Center.

As the NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, the Laketown Squadron plays an important role in developing the next generation of professional talent while also creating meaningful opportunities for community outreach, youth engagement, and local partnerships throughout the city.

We're excited about the positive impact this partnership will have both on and off the court and look forward to supporting the team as they prepare for another exciting season this fall. Be sure to follow for league updates and ticket information.
