I’m going to say this once as the owner, the human behind the scenes, and the person carrying the weight of this business every single day:
Running a small business is not for the weak. Every decision comes with criticism from someone. If we don’t grow, people complain. If we try new things, people complain. If we adjust hours temporarily to offer camps, create jobs, and keep expanding opportunities for families, people complain.
The truth is — I am trying my absolute best.
I’m balancing staff, memberships, programming, bills, maintenance, growth, and hundreds of families while also being a mom and a human being outside these walls. Not every decision will work perfectly for every family, and I understand disappointment. But the constant assumption that business owners make changes carelessly or greedily is exhausting.
This business was not built by a corporation. It was built by long nights, sacrifice, risk, stress, tears, and believing in something bigger for our community.
The summer hours change is temporary. Nobody was “targeted.” Nobody is being ignored. We are adapting the best we can for the season we are in.
And respectfully — if you think running a business like this is easy, I encourage you to try it sometime.
To the families who continue to support us, encourage us, and show grace while we navigate growth: thank you. You are the reason we keep going.
