🚨 Fraud Friday: Missing Wallet? Don’t Panic, Take Action. 🚨
Realizing your wallet is missing can cause instant stress. Whether you left it behind at a store or believe it was stolen, acting quickly can make all the difference.

Here’s what to do:

🔎 Step 1: Retrace Your Steps
Call the last place you visited right away. Many wallets are turned in to customer service within minutes.
💳 Step 2: Cancel or Freeze Your Cards
Contact your bank and credit card companies immediately. Many banks allow you to “lock” your card through their mobile app while you search. This can prevent fraudulent purchases.
📱 Step 3: Monitor Your Accounts
Review recent transactions carefully. Report anything suspicious right away — the faster you report fraud, the easier it is to resolve.
🪪 Step 4: Report a Lost or Stolen ID
If your driver’s license was inside, contact your local DMV to request a replacement. Consider placing a fraud alert on your credit through one of the three major credit bureaus:
Equifax
Experian
TransUnion
🔐 Step 5: File a Police Report (If Stolen)
If you believe your wallet was stolen, report it to your local law enforcement agency. A report can help protect you if your identity is used fraudulently.
💡 Pro Tip:
Consider keeping a secure photo (not on social media) of the contents of your wallet. Having account numbers and contact information readily available makes cancellation much easier.

Losing a wallet is frustrating, but quick action helps protect your identity and your finances.

Stay alert. Stay informed. And as always, we’re here to help.

We’re proud to introduce Jason Tetrick #560 as our full-time PEER Coordinator with the Kenosha Police Department.
Jason has served KPD for more than 17 years, including 13 years on third-shift patrol. Throughout his career, he has taken on numerous specialized roles, including Field Training Officer, Accident Investigator, SFST Instructor, member of the Tavern Unit, and dedicated member of our PEER Team. For the past three years, he has also served as a Training Officer, continuing to invest in the growth and development of others.
Jason joined the PEER Team in 2014 and has completed extensive peer-support training, all while demonstrating a deep commitment to the wellness of his coworkers. He was also selected as the handler for Tilly, KPD’s first Therapy/Facility Dog, another reflection of his heart for service and his passion for supporting others.
So what is a PEER Coordinator?
The PEER Coordinator serves as an advocate for the wellness of our officers and civilian staff. Law enforcement is a demanding profession. Long shifts, holidays away from family, high-risk situations, and exposure to traumatic events are realities of the job. At KPD, we believe caring for our people is essential. Our goal is not simply to help our officers endure these challenges, but to ensure they remain healthy and well throughout their careers and into retirement.
The PEER Coordinator leads a team of trained peer members who walk alongside coworkers as they navigate both professional and personal challenges. This role also helps connect officers and their families with valuable resources and support systems when they are needed most.
Taking care of our people is one of the most important responsibilities we have. The PEER Coordinator position is unique in law enforcement, and not many agencies across the country are able to provide this level of dedicated wellness support. We are grateful to have Jason leading this important work and look forward to the continued positive impact he will make within our department and our community.

Traffic Safety Reminder from Your Kenosha Police Department
Whether you're heading to work, school, or just out enjoying the day, we all play a role in keeping our roads safe. Here are a few simple reminders that can make a big difference:

🚗 Slow Down – Speed limits are there for a reason. Give yourself time to react and help prevent serious crashes.

📱 Stay Off Your Phone – Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of accidents. Keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.

🛑 Obey Traffic Signals & Signs – Red means stop, not “one more car.” Always follow posted signs and signals.

🚶‍♂️ Watch for Pedestrians & Cyclists – Especially in neighborhoods and near schools. Share the road and stay alert.

🚫 Drive Sober – Never get behind the wheel impaired. Plan ahead and make safe choices.

Let’s work together to keep our community safe. A few extra seconds of caution can save a life.

We honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We are forever grateful for their courage, their selflessness, and the lives they gave so we can live ours.
A heartfelt thank you to the American Legion for continuing to keep the spirit of service and remembrance alive in our communities. Your dedication ensures that these heroes are never forgotten.
We also extend our deepest gratitude to all military organizations, past and present, and to every service member and their families. Your sacrifices do not go unseen. Your strength does not go unnoticed.
