Did you know that the Senate can pass a bill for emergency funding of which nothing is an emergency? As long as the Senate President Pro Tempore and the Senate Majority Leader agree that it’s an emergency, then it is (even if it isn’t).

A little more about our Republican candidate for selectman, Lynn Harrington. Don’t forget to vote tomorrow if you haven’t yet.

I grew up in New Milford on a small farm. My stepdad was a dairy farmer growing up so after he married my mom, they bought a house with some property and we always had cows and pigs and rabbits. We cut our own wood to heat our house and then cut some more to sell. We had a large garden. My mom canned and froze lots of the vegetables. I learned how to take care of the animals that became our food. I learned how to work hard and that it was OK to do so. I have a special place in my heart for farmers. Farmers are the hard-working backbone of our town and our country. They are resilient, hard-working, creative, and have so much ingenuity. My dad can MacGyver anything.
Then I moved to Kent when I was 16. I’m met Chris and we’ve made a life together here while raising our two boys. I owned the Bull’s Bridge Country Store for 6 years and now we own South 7 Electric. Each of these businesses have allowed us to connect with so many residents.
Kent has been home to my family for about 300 years. The Chase family goes way back. I’m proud to call Kent my home. I’ve been proud to serve in numerous capacities around town and volunteer my time.
Now I wanna take that to the next step and serve as one of your next selectmen. I will ask the tough questions and I’m not afraid to play devils advocate. I will listen to my constituents. I will stick to my principles. I will serve the town the best way I know how.

Another testimonial from a resident, Joe Agli, in support of Lynn Harrington for Selectman.

I would like to point out some of Lynn's numerous qualities. She is energetic and is transparent and persistent in getting a job done. She has served on the Kent Park and Recreation and it's subcommittees as well as being the chair of the town's Republican Town Committee. Although perhaps the one thing that has impressed me the most about Lynn is the initiative she took in organizing a town wide collection of supplies for aid to the victims of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. A few words of support for our candidate for Selectman from Kent resident, Tony DiPentima.

Lynn Harrington is a smart and knowledgeable woman who knows how to get things done. She cares deeply about Kent and has dedicated much of her free time to the improvement of our Town and all of its residents, especially those in need. She and her husband are 24/7 Kent. They run a family business here that serves the residents of Kent. As a Selectwoman, Lynn will make sure that the decisions made ensure that our Town continues to thrive and that all of our residents enjoy the full benefits of living in our wonderful town.

Senator Harding is always working for Kent. THANK YOU!!!
