A little perspective, please. ❤️

This project has never been as simple as “raise the money and put up the playground.” There are fundraising goals, grants, donations, permits, planning, site preparation, equipment orders, contractors, installation schedules, safety requirements, and countless moving pieces that most people never see. This is a $1.2 million dollar all abilities, fully accessible playground. Our committee of volunteers only has $160,000 left to raise to hit that dollar amount.

We are a group of working moms that stepped up because we believed the children in our community deserved a place where EVERY child could play, regardless of ability. We gave our time, energy, evenings, weekends, and countless hours to make that vision happen.

Was it easy? Absolutely not.
Did everything happen as quickly as everyone hoped? No.
Does that mean the people who poured their time and hearts into this project failed? Absolutely not.

The equipment has been purchased. The work is moving forward. And the goal is still the same: to create an inclusive space that our community’s children can enjoy for years to come.

It’s perfectly fair to have questions. It’s fair to want updates. It’s fair to be frustrated when a project takes longer than expected.

Members of our committee of volunteers have found themselves in tears because of a Facebook post filled with false information, personal attacks, or name-calling over a playground for children. These are not just posts on a screen. They affect real people who have poured their time, energy, and hearts into making something positive happen for our community.

We understand that people may have different opinions and concerns. But there is a very real difference between disagreement and personal attacks; and sometimes, behind the screen, there is a person who is simply trying their best to make a difference.

If you’ve never organized a major community fundraising project, secured the money, coordinated with a municipality, worked through logistics, or tried to build something from the ground up, maybe pause before assuming you know the whole story.

Us moms didn’t have to take this on.
We chose to.

And we chose to do it for the kids. ❤️

A little grace, a little gratitude, and a little understanding would go a long way.
