As our office is trying to minimize exposure, we are limiting walk ins and in office appointments. Please call our office at 920-388-7198 prior to stopping in to see if we can handle the situation over the phone. If you are unable to e-mail us documentation that you need to get to us, this box outside of the County building can be utilized for our office as well. Be safe everyone!

To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, the Kewaunee County Treasurer's Office is advising residents take advantage of the outside drop-box located at the Administration Center entrance, 810 Lincoln Street, Kewaunee, for more than just tax payments. Please feel free to use it for forms that need to be brought back to County offices, etc. Kewaunee County will make sure all items dropped-off are delivered to the appropriate departments.

Throughout our history, you have rallied time and again to protect and serve your family, neighbors, and friends. Your leadership, patriotism, and entrepreneurship exemplify the American spirit. As Article I Section II of the Constitution directs, every 10 years, we conduct a census to determine representation in Congress. Think of it as a national roll call. The next national roll call is coming, and we must hear from you. The 2020 Census is a mission-critical opportunity to make your numbers known. This opportunity only comes once a decade, so 2020 will be the time to make sure your community is counted.

We need your help! Please get your community prepared by taking the following steps:

RESPOND TO THE CENSUS. Mark Census Day, April 1, 2020, on your calendar, and plan to respond to the short census questionnaire for your household as soon as you can. Mailings will go out, and the online response portal will open in mid-March. You can choose your preferred method of response: securely online, over the phone, or by mail.

Veterans benefit directly when their communities are counted correctly. Billions of dollars in federal funds are distributed each year based on census data that support education, housing, health care, hospitals, fire stations, and more. An accurate count is especially crucial for Veterans in rural communities, those with disabilities, and those at risk of homelessness. Data from the 2020 Census will also help the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs plan programs and assess emerging needs for Veterans.

Master Sergeant Brian Eisch has quite a story. The Purple Heart recipient was a single parent to two boys when he lost his leg in Afghanistan in 2010 trying to rescue someone, then lost one of his sons in a tragic accident when he came back home.

On Friday, Nate Stewart WFRV will show us how he uses fishing to cope with his past, and how he’s inspiring our youth to pick up a rod and reel. #HometownHeroes 🇺🇸💜

The Kewaunee County Health Department is excited to announce that a Diaper Bank has been established at the Health Department. Thanks to the diaper and wipe drives done at the Algoma School District and Luxemburg-Casco School District our shelves are stocked to serve families in Kewaunee County. Diapers are as essential to a baby's healthy development as a mother's love. Keeping infants and toddlers clean, dry and healthy is key to building a solid foundation for all children to reach their full potential. But one in three families struggle to provide clean diapers for their baby as diapers cannot be bought with FoodShare nor are they covered by the WIC Program.

For families in need, please see (below) the Participation Guidelines or call the Kewaunee County Public Health Department at 920-388-7160 for more information. Please note that distribution of diapers and wipes are contingent upon availability.

Anyone wishing to make a donation of diapers or wipes can do so by dropping them off at the Health Department located at 810 Lincoln Street, Kewaunee during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm). Monetary donations can be made payable to the Kewaunee County Public Health Department with a notation of "Diaper Bank" in the reference line and mailed to 810 Lincoln Street, Kewaunee, WI 54216.
