UUVRON-1 hosted a Junior Officer Leadership Symposium at Keyport, WA reinforcing the Navy’s commitment to developing warfighting excellence and mission-ready leaders. The symposium brought together more than 30 junior officers from across the waterfront to enhance professional knowledge, strengthen cross-command collaboration, and deepen understanding of current operational priorities.
The event featured keynote remarks from senior leadership, focused discussions on maritime domain awareness, distributed maritime operations, warfighting readiness, and ethical decision-making aligned with the Navy Ethos. Breakout sessions emphasized deckplate leadership, maintenance accountability, personnel development, and combat systems integration, providing practical tools to increase lethality and readiness at the unit level.
The symposium strengthened warfighter toughness, fostered innovation, and reinforced a culture of ownership and accountability, directly supporting fleet readiness and the Chief of Naval Operations’ priority to deliver ready, capable forces to the fight.
