Feeling of the day: Gratitude
As I sit here at work, knowing that today is my last flying shift at Stat 1, I have many bittersweet feelings knowing that this base will close its doors on Sept 30. I am grateful that I have been a part of this program since its conception and infancy and have been able to watch it grow. Although I left for a few years this program and these people are part my family. Now as we have to close this program it’s as if I’m laying a family member to rest. I am grateful to have been part of such a great program, work with many amazing people, EMS agencies and have made many great friendships. So as I go through my stages of grief, I want to thank my Stat family, the pilots for getting me home safe at the end of every shift and my partners for putting up with me!
As I close this chapter, I am grateful that I work for a company, PHI, which is taking care of me and my family. We all have been reassigned to different bases and will continue to be able to do a job we ABSOLUTLY love. So don’t count me out, I’m still going to be fulfilling my dream of flying just now in a different area. I will be flying in Ellington Field, and I am looking forward to working with this great group of people.
So the feeling of the day: Gratitude
