A military helicopter crashed Wednesday in Salado. The helicopter went down at 16400 Kuykendall Branch area in Salado, according to Cliff Coleman, Bell County Sheriff's Office public information officer.

When a citizen runs for Justice of the Peace, three crucial qualifications matter: knowing the community, advocating for the community, and, most importantly, understanding the laws that serve the community. An elected Justice of the Peace who sits on the bench must possess all three. These qualities demonstrate the ability to serve both justice and the people with fairness, knowledge, and commitment.

Bea worked in that very office for more than twenty years before being appointed as Bell County’s first Truancy Master. She loves God, loves her family, and stands ready to serve whenever she is called upon.

That is why the West Side Conservative Coalition proudly endorses Commissioner Bobby Whitson as he seeks reelection as Bell County Commissioner for Precinct 2.

Bobby Whitson is known not only as the Commissioner for Precinct 2, but also as a man of faith, a family man, and a dedicated advocate for Bell County. With our community facing ongoing challenges related to water availability, infrastructure, and public safety, Commissioner Whitson is the leader we want in our corner to help address these issues and move Bell County forward.

When you think of Representative Dr. Brad Buckley, it is hard not to wonder how he finds the time to do it all. Not only does he proudly represent District 54, but during the 89th Legislature Regular Session, he authored 46 bills, joint-authored 39 bills, and co-authored 85 bills. He also serves as Chair of the Public Education Committee and maintains a veterinary practice in Killeen. That barely touches on his roles as a husband, father, and grandfather, or the way he consistently shows up for his community when called upon.

The West Side Conservative Coalition is proud to endorse Representative Dr. Brad Buckley as he seeks reelection to Texas House District 54. Representative Buckley has proven to our community that he is ready to fight for us and for our future.

Representative Hillary Hickland is a well-known and respected name in Bell County. Her commitment to keeping her campaign promises has only strengthened her reputation as a leader who values God, family, and the people of Bell County.

She has proven time and again that Bell County is her home, and that she is committed to loving, serving, and protecting it. She supports responsible growth and strong communities for everyone in our area. Since taking office in January 2025, she has authored 46 bills, joint-authored 15 bills, sponsored 5 bills, and joint-sponsored 4 bills.

When someone says, “I am going to run for Bell County Commissioner,” what does that really mean?

The role of a county commissioner carries real responsibility. Two of the most important duties are helping set the county budget and tax rate, and overseeing the construction, maintenance, and improvement of county roads and bridges. While the job includes many other responsibilities, these are among the most important decisions that directly affect Bell County residents.

That is why the West Side Conservative Coalition is proud to endorse Curtis Emmons for Bell County Commissioner, Precinct 4, serving the Killeen area.

Our endorsement of Curtis is based on his experience, his character, and his commitment to this community. He is a businessman, a lifelong Killeen resident, a job creator, and someone who understands the importance of responsible budgeting. Most importantly, Curtis loves Killeen and Bell County. He wants to see our community grow in a way that brings positive impact, opportunity, and long-term strength to the people who call this area home.
