Thanks to my officers and dispatchers trying to wrap up a motor vehicle / pedestrian fatality accident. You guys (and gals) did a great job despite the intensity of the situation and the lack of manpower. - Chief.


FM 78 is closed at the 5000 block due to a major fatality motor vehicle accident. Please find an alternative route around that area. We will post updates and let you know when the roadway is open again.

San Antonio Constructors will be replacing a fire hydrant on July 24, 2018 and will turn the water off from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The following streets will be effected: Blue Spruce, Scott Carpenter, Bill Anders, parts of Buzz Aldrin and Alan Shepard, 4800 blk of Binz-Engleman rd. Binz-Engleman rd will remain closed to thru traffic until further notice. Only residents who live within the construction area will be allowed to enter.

High temperatures are expected to gradually warm each day, ranging from the upper 90s to around 105 degrees Monday through Sunday. Afternoon heat index values will reach 105 to 108 degrees in some areas. possibly 109 or 110 in a few spots.

To avoid heat related illnesses it is recommended to reduce, eliminate, or reschedule strenuous outdoor activities to the coolest times of the day. If you must be outside, take frequent breaks preferably in an air conditioned area and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Children, elderly, and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Look before you lock!


Ackerman Road is open and traffic is flowing again. The driver was issued a citation for violating the City’s thru truck ordinance. He also has to deal with a pretty hefty towing bill. Thanks for you patience and support!
