Had an amazing day today volunteering with my Meacham Park friends at the Backpack Giveaway event today. Had some wonderful conversations with the fine folks of the community, as well as great touching base with our Superintendent, Dr. Ken Roumpos, Dr. Jeremy Mapp, Vice Principal at NKMS, Jordan Hohm, as well as City Council member, Sheila Burkett, and city of Kirkwood Mayor, Liz Gibbons.

Community connections and conversations. That’s where it starts. Let’s see where it can go.
Also, more volunteers for next years event. I have some ideas. 😉

Just returned from a School Board member conference at the Lake of the Ozarks and it was amazing. So many great individuals from all over the state representing the kids and community that they serve in. Had a lot of fantastic workshops, including the new Board member training, that was extremely beneficial to the “new guy” in the room. Excited to move forward with my fellow Board members and do the work to move our wonderful school district forward, and hopefully make our students and the community of Kirkwood proud of the work that we are doing.

Tonight (April 28), the Board of Education will hold a work session at 7 p.m. This meeting is rescheduled due to yesterday’s predicted severe weather. It will be held at the Board Room on NKMS campus (former Orchestra Rm) on the East side of campus.
