At 6:30 tonight, Starke County's 1976 Bicentennial Time Capsule was opened at the Knox City Hall. Unfortunately, there was moisture inside so some of the paper documents were damaged. However, it still is a glimpse into the past.

To mark the 250th anniversary of the historic first public reading of the Declaration of Independence, communities across all 50 states and 16 U.S. territories held simultaneous public readings at 6:00 PM EDT (5:00 CDT) to allow the entire country to read the document aloud in unison.

Here in Starke County, the reading was on the grounds of the Starke County Courthouse. Below are photos from today's event.
