It's safety, advocacy, support, and a chance to begin again. At Haven House, we help survivors find hope and build a future free from abuse.💛

If you’re quietly planning how to leave an abusive home, please hear this: you’re not alone—and you’re not overreacting. 🧭

Leaving can be one of the most dangerous times, which is why going somewhere he can’t find you (like a shelter) can be a smart, protective first step. A big help is creating a safety plan ahead of time—what to do during an incident, how/when you’ll leave, and what essentials to grab if you can (IDs, medications, kids’ documents, a few clothes).

Many shelters can also help you think past the “right now” stuff—transportation, school options for your kids, and steps toward longer-term stability.
