Now that the school year is in full swing, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible donors and volunteers who made our Back2School Program a success!

Thanks to the generous support of Dave's Guitar Shop, Mayo Clinic Health System, Mid-West Family - La Crosse, Altra Federal Credit Union, April Carrier Agency - Farmers Insurance, Gaming Generations, Marine Credit Union, and donors in our community, we proudly reached our fundraising goal of $15,000!

We are also incredibly grateful to the 55 wonderful volunteers who helped set up, organize, and distribute supplies at our distribution event at the La Crosse Center. Because of this amazing community effort, 926 children from 379 families received backpacks and school supplies.

Thank you for helping our families and students start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn!

Every person who comes to Catholic Charities has a story. And every story is a reminder of what hope, support, and community can make possible.

When Sarah's bank account was drained by fraudulent charges, she fell behind on rent and faced the possibility of losing her housing. Through St. Lawrence Community Services in Eau Claire, she received budgeting support, financial guidance, and emergency rental assistance that helped her regain stability.

In La Crosse, Laura arrived at the Warming Center struggling with homelessness and addiction. With support from staff and community partners, she connected to recovery resources, secured employment, completed Emplify's 30-Day Unity program, and is now reunited with her family while celebrating over 120 days of sobriety.

In Wausau, a man came to Good Shepherd Shelter after being released from prison, determined to rebuild his life. Within weeks, he found employment and began saving for the future. Today, he and his wife are building a stable life together.

These stories are different, but they share a common thread: when people facing crisis receive compassionate support, they can move forward with dignity and hope.

Every day, Catholic Charities shelters, St. Lawrence Community Services, and Beyond Shelter programs provide emergency assistance, housing resources, case management, and supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and hardship.

This part-time position (28 hours per week) provides high-level administrative support to the Executive Director while helping coordinate the daily operations of the office. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, exercises sound judgment, and is committed to the mission of Catholic Charities. Hours are Monday-Thursday from 9 am-4 pm.

We are seeking seasonal evening & morning intake lead staff, and overnight lead staff to work in our Good Shepherd Shelter serving the homeless populations in our communities. The Lead Staff assists in the day-to-day operations of the shelter by providing shift supervision, support, and training to volunteers.
