This is the reality of the 2026 midterms, whether we like it or not.
You may not love the Republican on your ballot. You may be angry with Republicans in Congress. You may think they have been weak, ineffective, spineless, or all three. I understand it.
But none of that changes the choice sitting in front of us.
Sometimes politics is not about choosing between good and bad. Sometimes it is choosing between an imperfect option and an alternative you believe would be far worse.
Hold your nose if you have to. Complain all the way to the polling place. Vote in the primary for somebody better next time. But understand what sitting this election out means.
In my view, Democrats are increasingly being pulled between the old Washington establishment and a socialist wing that wants to fundamentally remake the country. At the same time, Democratic leaders have made no secret of their opposition to virtually everything President Trump is trying to accomplish.
Give them control of Congress and does anybody seriously believe they are going to suddenly become cooperative?
Of course not.
We would be headed straight back into investigations, hearings, subpoenas, accusations, and another Washington circus designed to consume the Trump presidency rather than solve the problems Americans elected him to address.
And 2026 is bigger than 2026.
Political momentum matters. If Democrats take Congress, stop Trump's agenda, dominate the headlines with investigations, and then carry that momentum into 2028, the consequences could last far beyond one congressional term.
That is why I do not believe conservatives have the luxury of staying home because the Republican candidate is not perfect.
Perfect is not on the ballot.
The question is which direction you want the country to go.
Vote accordingly.
Because this is not a joke, and pretending the stakes are not enormous will not make them disappear.
