Just came back from seeing the movie Secretariat. It was all about winning and losing and how graceful one does one or the other. It's not if your opponent knows you are a winner, it's that you know you are a winner. All of my supporters are winners regardless of what happens Tue.

I am proud of my supporters and the manner they have conducted themselves. It is never easy to turn the other cheek but you have done it heroically. It has been my pleasure to have befrinded by so many citizens who love our city and took the high road. If we are victorious Tue. evening we have a large job in front of us. My deepest respect to all of you and your families.

I have met a lot of wonderful and enthusiastic people who are chopping at the bit to become involved in our community if they are allowed to do so. To those people I admire you. We can and wll make La Grange the best it can be.

On the campaign door to door yeasterday I was asked by someone "What are you going to do for me." It was the first time I had been asked such a selfish question after knocking on over 900 doors in the last 5 weeks. My response was "what can you and I do for our community." I did not get a return response, just a closed door. I figure if people are not willing to help me nothing will change.
