Texas Judge Rosie Speedlin-Gonzalez has resigned and accepted a lifetime ban from judicial service after misconduct complaints tied to a courtroom incident where she allegedly ordered a defense attorney handcuffed and placed in the jury box.

The former Bexar County judge — the county’s first openly LGBT-identified judge — agreed to step down immediately and “shall be forever disqualified from judicial service in the State of Texas.”

Although criminal charges were later dismissed “in the interest of justice,” the commission said the allegations could have led to further disciplinary action.

A retired Florida pastor who spent years playing Santa Claus in Christmas parades is now facing serious criminal charges after being arrested in a child s*x trafficking sting operation.

Authorities say 68-year-old Thomas Hicks agreed to pay $200 to have s*x with someone he believed was a 13-year-old girl before undercover detectives arrested him.

According to investigators, Hicks allegedly continued the conversations even though he suspected “it could be a sting,” later admitting he was “intrigued.”

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said “thousands and thousands” of children had sat on Hicks’ lap over the years while he portrayed Santa Claus, calling him “a child s*x predator.”
