This is the third Wallace to walk across the stage, and I have been blessed to be there to meet them in that moment. I serve the district, but I also serve them. Moments like this are one of the greatest personal privileges that I had gotten to share on this journey of service!

A letter has been released by the Superintendent regarding the recent federal status conference, and that communication is appreciated. As we move forward, we have additional questions, data, and research to review to ensure a full understanding. This matter is significant to our district, and we look forward to continued efforts of transparency as this process unfolds.

For Immediate Release: CPSB is not the only district in Louisiana facing challenges related to this subject matter. More clarity should come after our attorneys meet with Judge Cain today. As stated in the open meeting, yesterday’s final vote concerned retaining counsel from the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, and my NO vote was not a reflection of their competence or capability. It was grounded in integrity and the need for impartiality under the law. From that lens, this arrangement raises a potential conflict-of-interest concern, especially given the current circumstances and the external pressures surrounding this matter, which only add to the challenges that we are already navigating.

Tomorrow I will explain my position, because I feel that is important for all of those that I represent.

Good morning, I’ve had many conversations with people on all sides. Social media can help organize and build awareness around shared goals and passions, but it is only a small part of the work. We cannot lose sight of the fact that real progress requires being willing to sit down, talk, listen, and build understanding together. I don’t do back-and-forth on social media, but I am always willing to talk directly and work toward understanding, however long that may take. My direct line has always been available throughout my service on the school board. I look forward to seeing you on tonight and hearing from each of you.

The public is encouraged to attend tomorrow’s Calcasieu Parish School Board meeting. I have received lots of feedback in regards to Item #12 on the agenda: Executive Session A. 🚨🚨UPDATE: I’ve had the opportunity to review the board packet and receive the information, which came in earlier than expected currently available regarding the executive session regarding the desegregation order that is on the agenda that is scheduled for this coming Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 5pm.

I appreciate everyone who has reached out with concern, advocacy, and questions. At this point, I do not yet have full understanding on the specific details or implications of the matter at hand. There are many questions and I am working to fully understand the scope and context of this issue

This is a serious matter that affects all of us, and I share the same sense of urgency that many in our community are expressing. Whether the item proceeds in executive session or moves into public discussion, I want to be clear, transparency remains a priority for me. As I learn more, I will continue to keep our parents, community members, and stakeholders informed to the fullest extent possible.

Thank you for your continued engagement, advocacy, and trust as we navigate this together.

🚨🚨🚨At this time, I can confirm that the matter of the desegregation order is listed as an item for discussion at our upcoming School Board meeting on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

However, I want to be clear, Board members have not yet received the full packet of materials to review in its entirety. Once the complete packet is made available, I will take the time to review it thoroughly and responsibly.

I do see that this item is currently scheduled for executive session, but I believe it warrants public discussion. Therefore, I am prepared to formally request that this item be removed from executive session and brought into open session, allowing for full transparency and for community members to share their voices through blue card public comment.

I appreciate the continued engagement from our community and remain committed to openness, equity, and decisions that serve the best interest of all students.

At tonight’s Curriculum and Instruction Committee meeting, the 2027-2028 school calendar was approved. It will be brought to the full Board next month for approval. As a reminder, last year the Board adopted both the 25-26 and the 26-27 school calendars in an effort to help our families and employees plan ahead. You can view these calendars on our website at any time. https://www.cpsb.org/calendars
