Dells-Delton EMS extends our congratulations to Deputy Chief Brandon Frederick, who was honored as First Responder of the Year by Representative Tony Kurtz on October 14, 2025.

Deputy Chief Frederick received this recognition for his heroic actions on the evening of November 20, 2024. That night, he observed rapidly deteriorating road conditions and strategically positioned his vehicle to shield an ambulance crew as they assessed patients on Interstate 90. Moments later, a semi-truck lost control and struck the rear of his vehicle while he was still inside.

Deputy Chief Frederick’s quick judgment and willingness to place himself in harm’s way likely prevented the ambulance crew from sustaining serious—or even fatal—injuries. His actions embody the dedication, bravery, and selflessness that define the very best of emergency services.

Dells-Delton EMS is proud to have Deputy Chief Frederick as part of our team. His actions reflect not only his personal commitment but also the core values and mission of our service.

Wo-Zha-Wa Days are almost here!

🚫 Some parking restrictions start tonight 9/10 to allow space for event set up. Sunday morning, there is a large number of streets that will be posted as no parking zones for the parade route, staging area and detour.

Life-Saving Milestone for Dells-Delton EMS!

This week marks a HUGE advancement in emergency care for our community — Dells-Delton EMS has officially put blood products into service, and just four days later, they were already used to save a life.

Starting Thursday, our crews began carrying blood products on our ambulances — a powerful tool in treating patients suffering from life-threatening blood loss before they ever reach the hospital. On Monday, our team administered blood in the field during a critical call, making an immediate difference in that patient’s chance of survival.

Why is this so important for the Dells-Delton area?

⏱️ Time is everything — In trauma and critical medical situations, getting blood to a patient fast can mean the difference between life and death.

🌲 Rural response realities — With our area’s mix of rural roads, tourist traffic, and distance from trauma centers, this new capability bridges the gap between emergency scenes and hospital care.

🏥 Advanced care before the ER — This upgrade brings hospital-level intervention right to the patient’s side, giving them a fighting chance when seconds matter most.

On Monday, May 26th at 9:00 AM, Wisconsin Dells will be hosting the local Memorial Day parade that begins at Broadway and Oak St. and continues down to end at Bowman Park. There will be a memorial service to follow the parade, at Bowman Park, which will likely begin around 9:45-10:00 AM. Please consider attending this beautiful ceremony that honors our local heroes who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
