Come see Lake Elmo Loves Reading at Lake Elmo Night Out RIGHT NOW on Laverne Ave in downtown Lake Elmo. We are giving away a free book to each kid that stops by to see us!

Lake Elmo Loves Reading will be at National Night Out TOMORROW, August 6th, outside of the old fire station. Again this year, kids can select a book for FREE from our extensive collection of board books, early readers, chapter books, and young adult fiction.


We exist to inspire a love of reading in Lake Elmo and beyond❤️


All of our books are gently used and donated from overloaded bookshelves, out-grown stories, community libraries, and schools.

NEW THIS YEAR: We will accept your book donations at our National Night Out table. Load up the stroller or the wagon with gently read books and leave them with us. We’ll take care of putting them in the hands of another eager reader for free.

And that’s a wrap! We had a blast getting books into people’s hands at the fair. Our favorite part is seeing the excitement in kids’ eyes as they walk away with their very own books, for free. We exist to inspire a lifelong love of reading for all in Lake Elmo and beyond! ✨📚❤️

Huge thanks to our amazing members and volunteers. This event couldn’t happen without the collective hard work of everyone involved!

While the fair has ended, the fun isn’t over yet! We’ll see you at Lake Elmo’s National Night Out on Tuesday evening with a fresh set of books to give away! More details to come…Stay tuned!

We hope to see you at the fair this weekend! We still have tons of books to give away to kids - picture books, chapter books, early reader, young adult - FOR FREE!✨ Swing over to our booth in Building B and check it out. We’d love to see these books get into kids’ hands! ❤️

PS, did we mention we have DVDs for a buck a piece (including TV series)? Not sure about you but we’re stocking up for the cabin! 😜

Who’s excited for the Washington County Fair? We are!! Mark your calendars for July 31st- August 4th! Our used book sale has been at the fair for OVER 10 YEARS and we’ll be back with a huge inventory and the best prices in town!

First book is FREE to all kids (Yes, FREE!)
$2 Hardcover
$1 Paperback
$1 Kid & Young Adult
$1 DVDs (HUGE selection this year that must go!)

Our goal is to spread the joy of reading so come say Hi and fill up a bag of books! 🤓📚📖❤️

(BTW, we are always accepting donations so if you are looking to unload any books, message us here or email [email protected] and we’ll coordinate a pick up. As a non-profit organization, we appreciate any and all donations! We couldn’t operate without the help of our lovely community.)
