Arcadia Police Explorer Post 1018 has been putting in the work 💪🏼

Over the last few weeks, our Explorers have been sharpening their traffic stop skills and focusing on hands-on training to better prepare themselves for the future. But it’s not just about training — it’s about service.

Our Explorers have stayed active in the community by volunteering at local events, including the s***t shoot hosted by the DeSoto County Chamber of Commerce and assisting at the Arcadia Rodeo this past weekend.

Training hard. Serving proudly. Staying involved.

Post 1018 continues to show what it means to represent Arcadia with professionalism, dedication, and heart. 👏🏼

On January 17, 2026, the Arcadia Police Explorers attended a delegates meeting hosted by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. Our explorers participated in several seminars covering topics such as K-9 alerts for materials used in bomb-making—where Explorer B. Penate gained hands-on experience—animal cruelty investigations, first aid, and bomb squad operations.

The explorers also received hands-on training in responding to a missing person complaint. Our post was commended for effectively utilizing dispatch, as we were the first group to do so during the event. The day concluded with a building-clearing scenario, where our explorers once again received positive feedback from the instructors.

Thank you Fort Lauderdale Police Department and their Police Explorer Post #1160 for hosting such an outstanding training event!

🔹 Active Shooter Training Exercise 🔹

This week, the Arcadia Police Explorers had the chance to assist the Wauchula Police Department by serving as role players during an active shooter training at one of their local schools.

This type of hands-on training is critical in helping officers prepare for real-life emergencies. Our Explorers were proud to play a small part in helping make the scenario as realistic as possible.

We’re thankful to Wauchula PD for allowing us to be part of this important training and for helping our Explorers gain valuable insight into the work officers do to keep our communities safe.

What a week it’s been for Arcadia Police Explorer Post 1018 at the State Competition!

These young ladies gave it their all as they competed in high-pressure scenarios like active shooter response, crisis intervention, traffic stops, and more. They held their heads high, performed incredibly well, and most importantly — they learned a lot about themselves and what it means to serve.

We also walked away with valuable lessons as advisors. There are things we know we can improve on, and we’re ready to put in the work to grow even stronger as a team.

We’re beyond proud of this group and everything they’ve accomplished. The future of law enforcement is bright with leaders like these coming up. 💙

Our Arcadia Police Explorers just wrapped up a challenging week full of intense scenarios, hands-on training, and real-world law enforcement challenges at this year’s state competition.

These young ladies showed grit, discipline, and professionalism throughout the entire week—and we couldn’t be more proud of how well they represented our department. We hope they walk away from this experience with more knowledge, confidence, and passion for public service than when they arrived.

A special thank you to our dedicated advisors who guided, mentored, and stood beside them every step of the way. Your commitment continues to shape the next generation of law enforcement leaders. 💙

We’re proud to announce that Arcadia Police Explorer Post 1018 is heading to our very first state competition! Since launching in October 2024, these young ladies have trained hard to prepare for this moment and represent the Arcadia Police Department with pride.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the donors who believed in our mission and made this opportunity possible. A special shoutout to DeSoto Ford for providing our Explorers with a comfortable ride to the competition—your support means the world to us!

Let’s wish our Explorers the best of luck as they put their skills to the test and make Arcadia proud! 💙🚔

On Saturday, our police explorers participated in the delegates meeting hosted by Seminole County Sheriffs Office Explorer Post 517. This training included scenarios related to traffic stops, domestic incident, search & arrest, crisis intervention, and more. This was our explorers’ first delegates meeting as a team, and they performed well. They were able to learn as a team, and the judges gave them some valuable critiques.

Post 1018 will continue training hard, as we move close to state competition in June. Stay tuned, and thank you all for supporting this amazing group of young ladies.

A big thank you to DeSoto Ford for providing our explorers with transportation to the delegates meeting, we appreciate you!

City Marshal Jones, Sgt. Rios, and Officer Allred had the honor of attending the DeSoto County High Schools CTE Senior Awards. Our police explorers Evelyn and Bianca were recognized as they both received 911 Certifications among other trainings they completed. They both endured 232 hours for the 911 certification’s, and have passed their state exams that make them readily available for a 911 operator position as soon as they graduate.

We are beyond proud of our explorers for excelling as seniors as well as in our program. Keep up the great work! Congratulations to all the seniors who were recognized at the CTE Senior Awards.

On Wednesday night, Officer Allred and Staff Sgt. Rios presented gift baskets to Post 1018’s three seniors: Evelyn, Bianca, and Aidyn. These three young ladies have flourished in their own individual way since our post came together last October. We are proud of the dedication and resilience they display as each week passes.
