Several nearby fire departments are reporting a scam involving t-shirt sales.

The Lakeview Fire Department is not currently selling t-shirts, and any text messages received regarding this should be ignored.

Vote Yes for the Indian Lake Joint District Emergency Medical Services levy. This levy is a reduction from the levy passed 5 years ago. It is a reduction from the current 3 mil levy to 2.5 mil. This will equate to $25 per $100,000 home valuation. With the passage of the levy, the board will pass a cap of $100 out of pocket cost to residents per call of service. Continuation of 24 hours per day fully trained staff and budgeting schedule for equipment replacement at end of its serviceability. This levy will go into effect in 2023 at the expiration of current levy.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attack that took place on September 11, 2001.

Today we reflect on the tragic events that unfolded on that morning, and the lessons learned from them. We remember the nearly 3000 lives lost on that day, and the bravery shown by the men and women who courageously ran towards danger to help those in need.

Everyone pray for our brother in blue and his family.

OGB FAMILY, PRAYERS ARE NEEDED!
Lieutenant Michael Thompson (Washington Township Ohio Police Department, Logan County) and his lovely wife Taylor were blessed with the birth of their son Parker Michael Thompson.

Parker was born July 13, 2021 at 12:28 PM at Memorial Health in Marysville. Shortly after Parker’s birth, he exhibited signs of respiratory distress. Parker was immediately transferred to Nationwide Children’s Medical Center in Columbus and admitted into the Intensive Care Unit. Once at Nationwide, Parker’s respiratory issues continued. Several procedures were completed to help Parker breathe naturally. Eventually, the decision was made to place Parker on a ventilator and a chest tube. Slowly but surely, Parker is making progress in the right direction. Parker’s brothers, sister and WTPD K9 Bruno are anxiously awaiting to meet him! Please pray for this little guy, he’s proving to be such a fighter!

Traffic will continue to get heavier and more congested as we move through the day.

Drivers should use caution, be mindful of others, and keep an eye out for pedestrians.

This evening, we will have apparatus scattered around the village as well as on the water.

With the celebration of our nation's independance just around the corner, many have asked about the use of sky lanterns. Why are they illegal?

- When one launches a sky lantern, they are sending an unattended fire aloft to travel to who knows where
- Sky lanterns have started many fires by getting caught in trees, landing on roof tops, and falling to the ground before the flame is fully extinguished
- Sky lanterns fall as "litter"
- The wire frames from sky lanterns have been found in the stomachs of dead animals and have gotten tangled up in farm machinery
- The Ohio Fire Code defines sky lanterns as a "Flame Effect," requiring permits and exhibitor's licenses.

We don't want to spoil your fun...we just want you to have a SAFE and happy 4th of July

Thank you to Austin Johnson and the entire Lakeview Fire Department for reaching out and sending my son Joey another T Shirt. He has visited over 180 fire departments in and around New York State and has received gifts from all over the world thanks to the all amazing brothers and sisters in the fire service. I can’t thank you enough for thinking of him and your generosity. Maybe some day we can come for a visit. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
