She's got the golden ticket!

This week, we came together to celebrate the bittersweet retirement of our amazing Human Resources Director, Annette, at the Veterans Home of California - Lancaster. The occasion was a whirlwind of emotions, with a mixture of laughter and happy tears.

Annette has devoted over 12 years to the California Department of Veterans Affairs, and she's been a true trailblazer within our home. Her commitment to our heroes and her teammates was truly inspiring; she often rose before dawn, leaving her home in the outskirts of Ventura County at 4:30 a.m., and returned after 7:00 p.m. to serve our community. Her steadfast sacrifice and guidance have been a cornerstone of the positive culture we all cherish. Her colleagues traveled from as far as Sacramento to show their appreciation and to honor her well-deserved send-off.

So, here's to you, Annette! Congratulations on an extraordinary career. We're going to miss your infectious spirit and warm smile more than words can say. Enjoy this next adventure, you've earned it!

Yesterday turned out to be an absolutely perfect day for our heroes at the Aquarium of the Pacific! The weather was just right, giving us a nice break from the sun, and the penguins were out in full force to greet us. We’re so grateful for the warm hospitality from all the staff, especially David, who has been volunteering at the aquarium for over ten years. This outing was such a blast, and we’ll be smiling about it for a long time!
