Lancaster Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Explorer Post # 803 The Explorer Post #803 is a division of the Boy Scouts Of America for people who are between 14 and When you sign up, you attend 2 meetings a month.

The meetings are from 7pm to 8:30pm on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month. During those meeting you are taught a basic first aid course which lasts for 6 months. Explorers are also taught CPR during the course. Explorers will also become familiar with the ambulance itself and the equipment. After 6 months, if the advisors feel you are ready, you will then be given a preceptor (an active membe

r of LVAC) and you will go on calls with them. In addition to learning first aid skills, Explorers will also be involved with blood pressure clinics, and are very helpful with all LVAC activities.
