Lancaster Central School District Budget

The Lancaster Central School District is situated in the north-central portion of Erie County and encompasses the town and village of Lancaster, town of Cheektowaga, town of Elma. The district consists of four K-3 buildings, one 4-6 building, one 7-8 (MS) building, and one 9-12 (HS). The district's enrollment for the 2012-13 school year for K-12 is 5,868 students. Also served are 162 Pre-Kindergarten students. The Lancaster Central School District 2012-13 general fund expenditure budget is $91,513,002. Major revenue sources are property taxes (50% ), state aid (31% ), and county sales tax (6%).

Mission: The purpose of the LCSD Budget page is to have another mechanism for the district to disseminate budget information to the community. Throughout the course of the budgeting season, page fans will be provided with updated budget information, reminders of important dates, links to district presentations, and articles that may be of interest to district residents. This is a district sponsored budget information page, therefore the comments have been disabled. Any questions or comments may be directed to the district office at 716-686-3200.

The first work session will be held on Monday, January 27th, at 6:30 pm in the Central Avenue Elementary Board Room.

The 2020-21 Lancaster CSD budget process begins January 27th in the Central Avenue Elementary Board Room at 6:30 p.m.

The scheduled 2020-21 budget work session dates are:
January 27th
February 24th
and April 6th

All work sessions will be held at Central Avenue Elementary beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Thank you to all that attended Monday night's candidate forum and annual budget hearing. Budget newsletters have been mailed to households. Presentations to community groups and PTOs continue throughout this week. Budget materials are available on the district's website.

2018 Lancaster CSD school tax bills are being mailed in the coming days.

The NYS property tax relief program is in effect again for the third year. STAR exemption eligible residents will receive a school tax relief check directly from NYS. Some Lancaster residents have reported receiving their rebate check from NYS within the last week. Information on the rebate program can be reviewed at: https://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/property/property-tax-relief.htm
