Pursuant to KRS 117.383( 8 ), to validate the accuracy and fidelity of the vote tabulation, the Garrard County Board of Elections will conduct a hand-to-eye audit of the votes cast in one randomly selected race from ballots tabulated by one randomly selected scanner from the May 19, 2026 Primary Election.

The Secretary of State will randomly select the race and scanner to be the subject of the audit on May 20, 2026 and notify the County that same day.

The audit will take place on May 22, 2026 at 11:00 am in the courtroom of the Garrard County Courthouse, 15 Public Square.

The public may observe the audit.

Your Garrard County Clerk, Kevin Montgomery and Deputy Clerk Kristy Anderson were out and about this morning at the Garrard County Middle School 8th grade Reality Store. Helping students learn about licensing vehicles and paying taxes. We really enjoyed working with the students and getting them prepared for future responsibilities.

The Garrard County Clerk's Office will be closing at noon on Wednesday, April 22nd so our staff can attend the visitation and memorial service for Bruce Mulcahy. We extend our sincere condolences and prayers to our Clerk Kevin Montgomery and his family on the passing of his step-father.
