In August 2025 Lloyd Smucker wrote on X: "The OBBB strengthens programs like SNAP for Americans who need it most."

In November 2025 U.S. Rep. Lloyd Smucker said he wasn't sure why President Donald Trump’s administration was fighting in court to prevent food assistance payments from reaching people during the government shutdown. (WITF)

What say you now Congressman Lloyd Smucker?

June 2026:
At least 776,000 children have lost SNAP benefits since Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill took effect. While Republicans promised that children and the “most vulnerable” would be protected, an analysis of 12 states that report SNAP participation by age found that children accounted for 46% of the 1.67 million people who lost SNAP benefits. USDA data also shows 4.3 million fewer people nationwide received SNAP than a year earlier. (ProPublica)

This could be the most clueless post yet from Congressman Lloyd Smucker. What an embarrassment.

Had a great time representing Indivisible at Peace in the Streets Block Party. Lancaster's SouthWest represented with both somber and fun moments. We had games, celebration, music and joy on the one hand, and a heartfelt remembrance of those who have fallen to gun violence.

Is it possible that Lloyd believes his lies? Or thinks we do?

Trump proposed a 2027 fiscal year budget with a 42 percent increase in defense spending, to $445 billion, bringing the total to a staggering $1.5 trillion. The budget calls for steep cuts to the Internal Revenue Service, Environmental Protection Agency, NASA, and the defunding of the National Endowment for Democracy.

Trump also called for massive budget cuts to the National Institutes of Health. The stage is being set to cut Social Security, just as Medicare and SNAP were.

Let’s not even do the numbers for the destruction of the White House, reflecting pool, a Triumphal Arch, and the list goes on. As does the Trump family grift.

Let's tell Smucker we're not as gullible as he is deceitful. What government waste, fraud, and abuse do you find most egregious?

Let's

Together, we’ll celebrate the history, resilience, and leadership of LGBTQ+ communities while exploring the real challenges LGBTQ+ people continue to face — especially at the intersections of race, class, gender identity, and sexual orientation. We’ll also discuss practical ways to create more welcoming, affirming, and effective spaces for organizing and collective action.

We’re honored to welcome Katie Blair, Vice President of Advocacy at PFLAG National, who leads national advocacy efforts on issues including healthcare access, parental rights, school censorship, conversion therapy, and LGBTQ+ civil rights protections.

What happened to Rep. Lloyd Smucker’s "moral clarity"? 🤔🇺🇦

“Standing with Ukraine is a matter of American security, allied strength, and moral clarity — and it tells the world that aggression will not be met with hesitation or retreat,” Fitzpatrick

Just last year, Smucker told us: “I do not think we can allow Putin to win. I think we should continue to help.”

Yet on Thursday, when the House voted to send crucial loans to Ukraine and impose strict sanctions on Russia's oil and mining exports, Smucker completely reversed course and voted NO.

When a politician contradicts their own supposed principles, voters deserve to know why. But when media reached out to ask about his lack of moral clarity on this issue? Smucker refused to comment.

We need leaders who stand by their words, not ones who hide when asked to explain their votes.

Last February, hundreds of Lancaster community members came together to speak out.

✊ 250 people joined a town hall hosted by Solidarity Lancaster and Mennonite Action to discuss the impact of the 287(g) agreement in Lancaster County. Just one week later, more than 100 people packed the Lancaster County Prison Board meeting to raise concerns and deliver a petition with 2,700 signatures calling on the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office to end its 287(g) agreement with ICE. Community members also spoke directly to District Attorney Heather Adams about her office’s participation.

Officials have repeatedly said “nothing has changed” since these agreements were signed. But here’s what we’ve learned:

➡️ ICE proposed a “surge” in Lancaster in October 2025
➡️ Detainments through the 287(g) program in Lancaster County have sharply increased
➡️ The DA is participating in a concerning “wellness” program that may put unaccompanied minors and their caretakers at risk
➡️ ICE is funneling tens of thousands of local tax dollars toward immigration enforcement through police departments instead of investing in community safety

These developments make one thing clear: our work is not over.

📍 Join us June 13 | 1–3 PM at Community Mennonite Church of Lancaster as we review what’s happened, break down these new developments, and plan the next steps in this campaign.

Now is the time to stay informed, get organized, and take action.
