Welcome Sarah Murray to the Lansing Parks Board! We had a great time at the information table at Bounce Into Spring yesterday getting everyone ready for the summer season. Congratulations to Brittney Guider and Marin Marti for winning season passes to the Lansing City Pool. The were the best guessers on our "count the baseballs" and "count the beachballs" challenges!

Online registration for the 2026 Summer Rec Mudcat season is officially open! Head over to www.lansingiowa.com/parkandrec/ and follow the prompts to secure your kids' spots on our baseball, softball and t-ball teams this summer. Practice will be starting up before we know it!
Please note: Lansing Park and Summer Rec participants must reside in the Eastern Allamakee Community School District to qualify. Those outside the district will be placed on a waiting list until all qualified registrants have been confirmed.
Let's get ready to play ball!

Summer is winding down, but the temperatures outside? Not so much. We'll continue to have some hours at the pool through Labor Day. Thanks to the staff for keeping the pool open for a couple of extra weeks!

🐾💦🐾 We're excited to announce that we will once again wrap up the 2025 pool season with the Annual Puppy Paddle, Labor Day, September 1st, from 4 - 6 pm. 🐾💦🐾
📄 All we ask is that dog owners be prepared to show proof of up-to-date vaccinations for their pets to participate.
💰💰And free will donations will go to support the Water Aerobics program pool fundraising efforts. They will also have baked goods for both puppies and humans for sale as well. 💰💰
In 2025 they donated a swimsuit and towel dryer to the pool for patrons' use!
🐶🐶 Grab the leash and come join us! 🐶🐶

Thanks to the hardworking crew at the Lansing City Pool, there will be open swim and water aerobics classes through Labor Day weekend, concluding with the Annual Puppy Paddle on Labor Day. Watch here for more details on that soon!

🏊‍♀️THIS week we ARE open for our regular summer hours. 🏊NEXT week our hours will change, just a bit(see below😃). We WILL have aerobics AND some open swim through Labor Day(we are finalizing a schedule rn). There WILL be a doggy paddle🐶at the end of the season😃

Thank you to the extended Anderson Family for their generous contribution of this new historical kiosk at Anderson Park. Here’s a flashback to a two weeks ago in mid-June when the family gathered to unveil the new kiosk remembering their first relatives to settle in Lansing, John T. and Elizabeth Fitzgerald.
You’ll also find a bench dedicated to the Fitzgeralds' daughter Margaret and husband George Anderson, who chose to reside in Lansing in 1940 to care for Margaret’s parents and who eventually donated the land that is now known as Anderson Park in Lansing.
Stop by to read the entire story, learn about the role of the family cow, and also discover the benefits of the Park's flood plain, an important feature of this area.
The City and Park and Rec are grateful for these wonderful new features at the park.

🩳👙Thanks to a generous donation from our “Water Aerobics Ladies,” we have acquired a swimsuit/towel Spin dryer.😃This will be open to the public; just ask a guard to help you dry👙🩳
