A look back at the 2026 AI Summit. 🤖📚

Thank you to everyone who joined UW Libraries, the Wyoming State Archives, and the Wyoming State Library at the UW Conference Center for a day of learning and discussion about the role of artificial intelligence in libraries, archives, and museums.

With attendees from across Wyoming and neighboring states, the Summit sparked thoughtful conversations on AI literacy, accessibility, privacy, digital collections, and the future of information work.

Thank you to our presenters, attendees, and keynote speaker, Joshua Sternfeld, for helping to make this year's event a success.

This June, UW Libraries is celebrating Pride Month with a book display on the main level of Coe Library.

Featuring fiction, nonfiction, memoirs, and histories, the display showcases LGBTQ+ authors, stories, and experiences across genres and generations.

Visit Coe Library throughout the month to explore the collection and discover stories that inform, challenge, and inspire.

📚 Indigenous Knowledge and History

This June, UW Libraries invites you to explore our Indigenous Knowledge and History book display on the main level of Coe Library. Featuring works by Indigenous authors and scholars, the display highlights Native histories, cultures, knowledge systems, and contemporary perspectives.

The display coincides with the Native American Summer Institute (NASI), which brings Native American high school students from the Wind River Reservation and across the region to campus for a week of academic, cultural, and leadership experiences. We're excited to welcome NASI participants to Coe Library for a program next week!

"The Wyoming Trip made national news. I remember being at a friend's house at 5th Street and Park Avenue when we happened to catch Walter Cronkite on CBS Evening News mispronouncing my name as he told the nation about our planned trip. But still I didn't know what I was in for."

In 1976, at the age of 12, Wyomingite Manus Hand and his family embarked on a journey across the United States and Canada to present honorary citizenship in the state to towns, counties, townships, and cities named "Wyoming." Now, fifty years later, he shares his memories of the trip, including a presentation to the Wyoming Bicentennial Commission, running out of gas in the middle of Times Square, and a brief glimpse of President Ford during a tour of the White House by Dick Cheney.

📚 Jewish American Heritage Month

This month, UW Libraries is recognizing Jewish American Heritage Month with a book display on the main level of Coe Library.

The display highlights Jewish American history, culture, literature, and lived experiences through a range of voices and perspectives.

Stop by Coe Library through the end of May to explore the collection.
