TOP CRASH INTERSECTIONS — JULY 2026

Here is a list of the intersections in our jurisdiction with the highest number of traffic crashes last month.

Reducing traffic deaths is among this department’s highest priorities. Everyone deserves to reach their destination safely. Don’t put yourself or others at risk by engaging in dangerous driving behaviors.

Some of the top contributing factors in injury crashes during July included:

❌ Failure to Yield the Right of Way
❌ Failure to Maintain Lane / Ran Off Road / Wrong-Way Driving
❌ Disregarding a Traffic Control Device

Today we celebrated the retirement of manager Shannon. After 28 and a half years she is hanging up her headset. She started in 1998 as a call taker, promoted to dispatcher, then supervisor, and finally manager. Coworkers that have spanned her career showed up, shared stories and some tears. Her impact on Metrocomm cannot be overstated. She has been a trainer, mentor, leader, and a friend. All you have done for this bureau will not be forgotten. We hope to make you proud going forward.

🚨 SCAM ALERT: Stop. Think. Verify.

LVMPD has received numerous calls today from concerned citizens who received scam phone calls that sounded and felt very real.

Scammers may claim you:

Failed to appear in court
Missed jury or grand jury duty
Have a warrant for your arrest
Must immediately pay money to avoid arrest

They may leave a convincing voicemail or keep you on the phone while pressuring and threatening you. Do not fall for it. Law enforcement will never demand immediate payment over the phone to prevent an arrest.

Never provide personal or financial information to someone who calls unexpectedly. Hang up and independently contact LVMPD or your local law enforcement agency to verify the claim.

NEW NUMBERS JUST IN: Weekend SUPER DUI Blitz Results

Officers from each area command, LVMPD Traffic, LVMPD 911 Communications, joined with Henderson Police Department, Nevada State Police , Las Vegas DPS Marshals and phlebotomists to keep you safe on the roads.

Our weekend SUPER DUI Blitz ended with the following results:
714 Traffic Stops
427 Citations
76 DUI Arrests
13 Other Arrests
6 Fi****ms Recovered
88 Towed Vehicles

We are takin' and towin' vehicles off the roads that shouldn't be endangering you!

There are too many safe options available. Never drive impaired.

🇺🇸 Our SUPER DUI Blitz Begins Today

As our community celebrates Independence Day weekend, our SUPER DUI Blitz begins today and continues throughout the holiday weekend, with increased DUI enforcement throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

Our goal is simple: save lives by preventing impaired driving before tragedy strikes.

If you're celebrating this weekend, make a plan before you head out:

🚗 Designate a sober driver.
🚕 Use a rideshare or taxi.
🚍 Take public transportation.
🍻 Never drive impaired.

If you choose to drive impaired, expect to encounter increased DUI enforcement throughout the Las Vegas Valley all weekend long.

Whether you're heading to a neighborhood barbecue, a fireworks show, or spending time with family and friends, help us keep our roads safe by making responsible choices this holiday weekend.

LVMPD has confiscated more than 10 tons of illegal fireworks this year.

As Southern Nevada prepares to celebrate Independence Day and the 250th anniversary of American independence, we are reminding everyone to celebrate responsibly and make safety a priority this holiday weekend.

Thousands of residents and visitors are expected to attend events throughout the valley, including First Friday, celebrations on the Las Vegas Strip, and community festivities across Clark County. LVMPD has comprehensive operational plans in place and will have an increased law enforcement presence throughout the weekend to help keep everyone safe.

One of the biggest public safety concerns remains illegal fireworks.

This year alone, LVMPD has seized more than 20,000 pounds of illegal fireworks.

Reminder from LVMPD, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue and Clark County Fire Department
• Only "Safe-N-Sane" fireworks purchased from authorized Clark County retailers are legal for personal use.
• If a firework leaves the ground, explodes in the air, or was purchased outside Clark County, it is likely illegal.
• To report illegal fireworks, call 311, or 702-828-3111. Only call 911 if there is an emergency involving a fire, injury, or an immediate threat to life or property.

Parents and guardians should also be aware that juvenile curfew laws remain in effect during summer break. On the Las Vegas Strip and around the Fremont Street Experience, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m.
LVMPD officers will also conduct a DUI enforcement blitz throughout the holiday weekend. If you plan to drink, make a plan before you go. Use a designated driver, rideshare, or taxi.

Every decision matters. Illegal fireworks, impaired driving, and reckless behavior can have life-changing consequences. Together, we can help ensure everyone enjoys a safe and memorable Independence Day weekend.
