The LVMPD Theft Crimes Bureau is alerting the public about recent reports of a business (carpet cleaning company) that is "spoofing" the LVMPD Theft Crimes Bureau main number. "Spoofing" is the process of making phone numbers appear from wherever the subject chooses.

Citizens have been receiving calls from a non-metro phone number and upon returning the call, they are being transferred to the Theft Crimes Bureau main line at (702) 828-3483.

We want our community to know that the LVMPD Theft Crimes Bureau is in no way affiliated with this business. These phone calls are making it difficult for citizens who have official business with the Theft Crimes Bureau to get through to us. We are making every attempt to correct this problem and recommend that citizens register their number on the "Do Not Call" List at https://telemarketing.donotcall.gov/
