Access to mental health care shouldn't depend on where you live or how long you're forced to wait for an appointment.
AB450 makes it easier for qualified marriage, family therapists and clinical professional counselors licensed in other states to earn a Nevada license through endorsement, helping with provider shortages and expanding access to mental health care.
Strengthening Nevada's behavioral health workforce is one step towards ensuring more individuals and families can receive the care they need, when they need it. The NLLC remains committed to supporting healthier, stronger communities for all.
Thank you, , for championing this work, we are grateful for all the work you do for all of our communities.

On International Youth Day, we celebrate the young leaders shaping Nevada’s future through advocacy, creativity, and civic engagement. Through initiatives like our Policy Summit, we connect youth with the legislative process and empower the next generation of leaders.

A special shoutout to leaders like Selena Torres-Fossett and Fabian Doñate who were elected at just 23 and 24! making them among the youngest in recent history and already making an impact for our communities.

Thank you to everyone who continues to advocate for our communities, and to our young people, we believe in you!

In recognition of World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month, we celebrate the importance of supporting parents and infants through policies that promote health, dignity, and access to care.

During Session, Nevada passed AB266, sponsored by Assemblymember Cecelia González, which:

➡️ Protects the right to breastfeed in public without discrimination.

➡️ Requires the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services to provide reliable breastfeeding and lactation education and resources.
➡️ Helps connect parents with the information and support they need throughout their breastfeeding journey.
Thank you to Assemblymember González, for championing this bill and for sharing her own breastfeeding journey to help make this law a reality for Nevada families.

The NLLC is proud to support policies that promote healthier families, protect parents’ rights, and expand access to essential health resources across our state.

SB124 helps experienced foreign trained doctors practice medicine sooner in Nevada, helping expand healthcare access for our communities. More doctors means more care for Nevada families.

This is what community focused policy looks like. Thank you to, , for carrying this important piece of legislation!
