A nice view of Horseshoe Lake from across the railroad tracks. The cluster of trees between the road and the tracks is still there, however the railroad siding that begins in this photo is gone. There are no telephone poles or utilities in Horseshoe today, either. This was taken in the 1950s, another nice photo by Canton photographer Dwight Church. The railroad station that once stood at Horseshoe would have been somewhere to the right of the edge of this photo, as it sat between the railroad tracks and the road. The only building that remains on the tracks is the railroad agent’s building, which can be seen in my previous post of Horseshoe Station.

I hadn't been up there in years but as soon as I got up to the sites along the lake near the railroad tracks, an Adirondack Railroad train came chugging along.
