Bev4Brookland

Bev4Brookland Beverly Cocke was a member of the Henrico School Board, representing the Brookland district from January 2012 - December 2019.

She continues to volunteer in her community and promotes educational opportunities for students. Bev was elected to the School Board in 2011 and served as Chairman in 2013 and 2016. She has been a strong parent advocate in her community for over two decades as a member of the PTA, serving as PTA/PTSA President in two of Brookland district schools among other roles. Bev was appointed by the Bd Of S

upervisors, 1999- 2011 to the Historic Preservation Advisory Committee. She was also the Girl Scout Leader of Troop #271 for 10 years. Bev has volunteered for years with the Henrico Christmas Mother and chosen by the HCM Council as the 2015 Henrico Christmas Mother. She and her husband, Jack, live in Glen Allen where Bev has lived her whole life.

As we prepare to ring in a New Year, it is time for me to bid adieu. Brookland, it has been my honor to be your School Board Representative. You are in great hands with Kristi Kinsella, a new servant leader who will listen, and do right by our students and teachers. I have tried to do the best for students, to represent you professionally and honestly, and to leave Brookland better than I found it (my take on an old Girl Scout rule). Exciting things are happening in HCPS. Here’s to a wonderful 2020 and beyond. Godspeed!
