Thank you, Laurens Fire Department, for your dedication to serving not only our community, but communities across our state. 💙

Laurens Fire Department was requested through the South Carolina Firefighter Mobilization for resources for a commercial structure fire in Winnsboro, Fairfield County.

Our department has sent a crew of four personnel for assistance. They were deployed around 12:30 last night and are still actively working at this time.

We are happy to assist our surrounding counties while remaining fully operational in serving the City of Laurens.

Check out the Laurens County Museum and their large collection of Native American artifacts! 💙

Did you know that we have one of the largest collections of Native American artifacts in the Southeast? Our First Nations Exhibit Hall contains over 5,000 projectile points, split among 4 collections. These projectile points originate from both NC and SC, with a small collection coming from Laurens County. This room also contains spears, atlatls (spear-throwers), tools and a cave where children can draw cave art on the walls. Come and see it yourself!

The City of Laurens will host a Community Ordinance Workshop to discuss proposed updates to regulations concerning animals, livestock, poultry, backyard hens, animal enclosures, and related nuisances.

City Council has delayed the second reading of these ordinances to allow time for community discussion and consideration of potential revisions based on public input. Community members are encouraged to attend, learn more about the proposed changes, ask questions, and share their input.
