Every bag of clothing, pair of shoes, piece of furniture, and other household items you donate helps fund BGCLK before and after school programs, giving more kids in our community the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive. Our team had a great time connecting with Jayhawks looking for part-time work yesterday as part of the The University of Kansas Hawk Week Job Fair. Huge thanks to Ori (Sr. Unit Director, Prairie Park), Vanessa (Sr. Unit Director, Langston Hughes), Amanda (Director of Programs), and Keif (Sr. Unit Director, Quail Run) for representing BGCLK and sharing their experiences working at the Club.

Meet Zion Bowlin.🌟 In 2017, he made headlines as our Youth of the Year. From being a Club kid at Deerfield to now serving as Unit Director at New York Elementary, his journey has brought him back to the Club, and we are so grateful to have him as a leader for our Club kids.

Today marks the first full day of school for Lawrence Public Schools, and Club kids at Sunflower Elementary got ready for it by picking out colors and stencils to decorate their own pencil bags! βœοΈπŸŽ’

Some went with sunflowers, some went with eagles, but every kid walked away with a bag of their own to keep pencils, crayons, and supplies organized this year.

Wishing all students, parents & guardians, and school staff a wonderful start to the 2026-2027 school year!
