As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, Prospect ELC celebrated the vibrant cultures, traditions, and histories of our school's community with a Hispanic Heritage Cultural Fair! Hispanic heritage is woven into the heart of our school and city throughout the year, and this special event brought students and their families together to celebrate their roots, share their traditions, and honor the stories that make our community unique. đź’™

Celebrating our young musicians! CDCPS is proud to receive a FY27 Mass Cultural Council YouthReach grant in support of our Violin Program. 🎻🎶

At CDCPS, we believe the arts give students powerful opportunities to discover their talents, find their voices, challenge themselves, and experience the joy of creating together.

We are proud to be part of the YouthReach program alongside our Lawrence partners, helping ensure that young people across the city have access to enriching arts, humanities, and sciences experiences that inspire creativity, connection, and growth.

Earlier this month, we hosted our annual High School Placement Fair at CDCPS! Our 8th graders had the opportunity to explore different high schools and learn more about the opportunities available to them after graduating from CDCPS. Gateway ELC celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month with our annual Hispanic Heritage Cultural Fair! From traditional foods and music to dances and family stories, Gateway ELC celebrated the rich cultures of the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Argentina, El Salvador, and more, including our wonderful Spanish teacher Sra. Spada’s Colombian heritage. 💛

There is so much pride in every culture represented! A special thank you to Sra. Spada for organizing this annual tradition and to our families for sharing their cultures with our classrooms.

Hispanic Heritage Month continues to bring meaningful learning and creativity into our classrooms! đź’™

Our Prospect Lower School students are celebrating Latine and Hispanic voices through their reading, artwork, and classroom experiences. From Grade 2 students creating guitars in art to our fourth graders creating self-portraits inspired by If Dominican Were a Color, each experience gives students an opportunity to learn, connect, and celebrate!

We were honored to welcome Secretary of Education Dr. Stephen Zrike, Commissioner of Early Education and Care Amy Kershaw, Receiver and Deputy Commissioner of Lawrence Public Schools Lauren Woo, and Associate Commissioner of Massachusetts Charter Schools Alison Bagg to The Community Group and Community Day Charter Public School!

During their visit, our guests had the opportunity to learn more about our child care program at our Early Learning Center and visit the classrooms of our youngest learners at CDCPS’s Gateway ELC and Webster ELC campuses. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the work of our dedicated educators and staff and highlight the importance of integrating learning and play as we guide all of our students toward the North Star.

We are grateful for the time our guests spent with in our classrooms and for the opportunity to give them a closer look at our programs. We are equally grateful for our dedicated educators who make our programs welcoming, supportive spaces where families can feel confident and young children can thrive.

Thank you, Secretary Steve Zrike, Commissioner Kershaw MA Dept of Early Education and Care, Receiver Woo, and Associate Commissioner Bagg, for spending time with our students and staff. We appreciate your continued commitment to the children and families of Massachusetts!

Recently, our TCG and CDCPS employees and their families came together for a fun-filled day at Stone Zoo! It was a wonderful opportunity to spend time together, enjoy the animals, and make memories with family and colleagues outside of our everyday work.

A huge thank you to Stone Zoo in Stoneham, MA, for welcoming us and coordinating with our team to make the day so enjoyable. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back!
