My girlfriend Tamara's RANT! I have worked in the food industry for almost 30 years ( to be exact 28 ). I have worked at diners, pizzerias, fine dining, country clubs, and catering for weddings funerals and parties. I have also worked the food counters, and as a hostess as well as delivery of food for at least 3 separate restaurants. I also have been in customer service for 30 years as well... I VERY RARELY COMPLAIN about service.. Today we decided to order delivery from Amaris Pizzeria on Broad Street. We ordered a crab and shrimp pizza 🍕. Sounded excellent. Right? Well we ordered after 1pm ( after buzy time ). We recieved our delivery of a pizza that had artichoke black olives prosciutto tomatoes. Etc. ( not what we ordered ). We called and told them that we got the wrong pizza. They admitted that it was a miscommunication on thier end. The person on the phone said... "Gimme the wrong one back, and I will deliver the correct one" Now as you can imagine, I was shocked because to ask for the old food back on a normal basis is gross but with covid... SMH. Are they gonna put it out for slices? Give to someone else? Grrrr. Now when a different delivery person came with the new pie he promptly took the old pie put it in the warmer pizza bag and gave me the new one. ( again we do not have covid in our household, but the pizza was inside our home on out table and now inside his delivery bag. Which im sure many more deliveries in and out of thier bags and restaurant ). I expressed my concern about resale and covid and asked him his name. He said he was the owner. I asked are you Mr. Amari? He said yes. I came inside the apartment and called the restaurant. I asked to speak to the owner. The man who answered, said he was the owner. I expressed to him my same concern about covid, the return of the incorrect food, and told him that the deliver guy told me that HE WAS IN FACT THE OWNER. The guy on the phone ( who really knows if I spoke to the REAL owner) said we request the food back because people lie and want 2 pies for the price of one. ... So now im infuriated that he accused me of wanting more for my money... When meanwhile was concerned about covid etc.... LESSON LEARNED...Stick to what you KNOW is good. And the restaurants and the people and owners you trust. REVIEW OF THE PIZZA. flavor of crab and shrimp with the marinara and fresh motz had great flavor however the crust was hard as a rock. Grrrrr. Worst 25.00 I have ever spent!
