The purpose of the Youth and Family Affairs committee is addressing issues relating to the youth in the community, with the goal helping the City's "at-risk" youth, to include identifying opportunities for the community's at-risk youth to develop life and career enhancing skills and thereby help them to avoid involvement in the criminal justice system.

Hungry Hearts Food Ministry will host the Mobile Wellness Unit Tuesday, March 22 from 10 am to 3 pm at 605 SW 11th Street.

No Appointment needed. Walk-ins only!

The “Mobile Health on the Go” mobile wellness unit is part of a statewide fleet mobilized by the Oklahoma State Department of Health to help reach underserved communities with vital health services.

Services offered by the mobile wellness unit will include women and men health exams, immunizations, pregnancy tests, pneumonia vaccine, annual child visits, blood pressure screenings, COVID-19 and flu testing and vaccinations and other public health services.

By mobilizing public health services, we can reduce or remove some of the major barriers that create health disparities in our communities.

If you have questions about Medicaid and need help with enrollment, our Community Health Workers are at the Lawton Public Library, Municipal City of Lawton to assist you in applying for Medicaid. Monday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 110 SW 4th Street in Lawton.

We had another successful workshop yesterday. The DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO SEPTEMBER 30, 2021. There will be discussion of having another workshop in the future to assist with the application process.

We had a nice turnout yesterday at our training event. Spread the word about this training that will assist nonprofits with a our grant application. We want our local organizations to thrive, ultimately keeping our young people out of the criminal justice system.

The next training will be July 20, 2021 at 11:30 am-1:30 pm in the Johnson Theatre at Ross Hall on CU’s campus. See you there!
