Cities exist for two very important reasons, first, to deliver essential services like EMS, police, roads, sewer, water, etc. And second, to create a place, a place to be from, to come home to, to recreate, to work, and to raise our families.
The RAMP tax directly supports that second purpose, while freeing up general fund money for the first purpose. It helps us build and sustain our parks, trails system, museum, and recreation programs, it also helps to bring the arts and arts education to our community… to make Layton feel like home.
As a member of the City Council and as the council liaison for the RAMP Commission, I have seen first hand the hard work and dedication of the RAMP commissioners as they vet grant applications and make recommendations to the City Council on what to fund. They have made good decisions.
Ballots are being mailed out tomorrow… please join Stephanie and me and make sure to vote YES on RAMP and keep Layton thriving as a place we’re all proud to call home!
