Annual Sign Replacement in Neighborhoods

Recently, Public Works crews began working toward the department’s annual goal of repairing and replacing street name signs and stop signs in the first of three neighborhoods planned for this year.

Crews have made significant progress in central League City and will be moving to Autumn Lakes next, where they are updating and replacing any street name signs or stop signs that are no longer legible or have lost their reflectivity.

These improvements are part of the Public Works Department’s ongoing commitment to enhance safety and visibility throughout the community.

Know the Rules Regarding Blocking A Sidewalk

Did you know it’s required to keep public sidewalks open for the safe passage of pedestrians and that parking on a sidewalk or blocking a sidewalk with your vehicle is prohibited in League City? This includes blocking the public sidewalk that crosses your driveway.

While we seek voluntary compliance, enforcement of this requirement is typically addressed through calls for service. While the City's ordinance allows for a resident to receive a citation for sidewalk encroachment, the City wants to first educate citizens on this ordinance and request violators to voluntarily move their vehicles before any sort of citation is issued. Please consider your fellow residents and remember not to block a sidewalk with a car, trailer, or recreational vehicle.

If a citizen observes someone violating this ordinance, they can call the City’s Neighborhood Services Department directly at 281-554-1480.

For more information on the City ordinance visit our website: https://www.leaguecitytx.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=5429
