A visit to a women’s prison in Istanbul and see our OFW inmates. I promised both of them that I will visit their children to check on their welfare and well-being back home, per directive of President Bongbong Marcos. Thank you, Department of Foreign Affairs, Republic of the Philippines-PCG Istanbul and Turkish authorities.

We were joined by our legal counsel who handles our OFW cases in Istanbul.

In Bucharest, Jeddah, and Istanbul — hospital visits for our ill OFWs, including two comatose patients with their respective spouses who are on compassionate visits. Dalawang kaso po ng aksidente sa worksite.

Ang isa naman pong OFW na dinalaw namin ni OWWA Administrator PY Caunan at ng PE Bucharest ay naluha po sa tuwa nang makita po kami. Nagkasakit po sya at recovering na po sya.

Nangiti naman po kami sa dalawang litrato sa magandang balita na natanggap po namin sa mga doktor, dahil improving po ang sitwasyon ng mga pasyente natin. Kasama ko rin po sina Ambassador Jaime Ascalon sa Istanbul at si DMW Assistant Secretary Vennie Legaspi sa Jeddah.

Ang mahalaga po, ayon sa tagubilin ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos, ay maramdaman ng mga OFW families ang ating tulong at suporta sa oras ng matinding pangangailangan.

Sisikapin po naming mapanglingkuran po silang lahat.

Maraming salamat po sa mga pamahalaan at medical personnel ng Romania, Saudi Arabia, at Türkiye.

23 July 2026 I MWO-Lebanon, in collaboration with the Philippine Embassy in Türkiye and Philippine Consulate General in Istanbul, provided airport assistance to distressed Filipino seafarers who were onboard vessels that had been struck by drones, ensuring their safe and well-coordinated transit during their onward journey.

Recognizing the difficult circumstances they had endured, the three offices worked closely to facilitate their airport transfer and provide the necessary assistance, helping ease their travel as they continued their journey home.

22-24 July 2026 I The Migrant Workers Office (MWO)-Lebanon, in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Türkiye and Philippine Consulate General in Istanbul, conducted outreach activities in Ankara and Istanbul, Turkiye to provide more accessible services to OFWs, particularly for the verification of employment contracts without the need to send their documents to Lebanon.
