UNO Souls

So proud of our Alum Brigitta Toruño and current class member Nikki Daruwala. Awesome interview.

UNO Souls Chat: I am honored today to be chatting with Nikki Daruwala— an UNO Soul. She is the Executive Director of the Loudoun Literacy Council.

Nikki Daruwala is a very kind and wise nonprofit leader in the Loudoun County, VA community. She is in touch with the needs of the community and has turned the Loudoun Literacy Council around to meet those needs, especially during these difficult times of the pandemic. We are lucky to have her in our community!

Words of wisdom: “Just being kind to yourself and also I have tried to eliminate 3 words from my vocabulary: coulda, shoulda woulda. It is what it is. And you do your best. And put your best forward. And think about yourself. And think about your loved ones. And the community. And the people you serve. Just move forward with that. ”

I am grateful for you Nikki! Thank you for taking the time to chat with me!

◊◊◊

UNO Souls are beacons of light in our community that can be guides for how to cope through this collective moment of change. I would love to chat with you – please reach out! I honor the light in all of you 🙏💕

07/11/2020

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you my decision to resign as President of Board of Directors of Leadership Loudoun, effective July 31, 2020. My other professional and personal commitments have become too great for me to be able to fulfill the requirements of my position on the Board.

After 5 years with Leadership Loudoun I am extremely proud of all we have accomplished. My growth as a person, as a leader, and as a professional during my time with this celebrated organization cannot be measured. Leadership Loudoun has provided so many remarkable opportunities and has helped me make invaluable professional connections and friends in Loudoun County, The Commonwealth, and the country. I will be forever grateful to everyone who has helped me during this journey. I also want to thank our community of supporters whose generosity and commitment have helped fueled our growth and progress in Loudoun County.

I am honored to have been the leader of this incredible organization, and I look forward to the continued success for many years to come.

Again, thank you for the privilege of serving this extraordinary organization.

With warm regards,
Scott German
