There is so much divide. Red vs. Blue. Black vs. White. Stay Home vs. Open Up.
When did so much divide become the norm?
When did we become so selfish that only “my opinion” matters whether you agree or not?
It is extremely sad and disappointing that as someone who was born during the year that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated, and after so many “tipping points” since, we are still here having the same discussion.
I know the point is obvious, but the issue stems from those that have been in charge, making the rules /laws and making them acceptable to those like them that benefit the most.
That has to change and has to change now. As a member of Leadership Loudoun, past or present, we employ you to get involved for change.
Volunteer, build your community, run for office.....at the very least, VOTE!
Let’s get people in our government, local and national, to show us true leadership and begin to make the systemic change needed to stop the continued senseless violence and racism that has only increased, not decreased. Get those in office that will make change for the masses, not the few.
We are all better than this. We know it. Now is the time to show it.... for us and our familes.
Please, stay safe, and let’s do our best to become one.
