I’ve been honored to administer the oath of office to police officers in the towns of Purcellville and Leesburg recently. I also administered the oath of office to a group of Sheriff’s deputies in the Sheriffs Office. Congratulations to these police officers and sheriff’s deputies. We value your public service and wish you success in pursuit of your duties.

I was asked to serve as the judge of the 868 Estate Vineyards Gingerbread House competition recently. The employees at 868 are very talented and creative bakers which made the judging of this contest very challenging. Each gingerbread house was beautiful and wonderfully decorated. Congratulations to all who participated as each house was truly remarkable and demonstrated the joy of the Christmas season. 🎄

There is a lot of excitement in Harrisonburg this week as the JMU men’s basketball team defeated UVA. It was exciting to be there to watch the game. I joined my son Zach, my JMU roommates Glenn Wayland and Chris Womack and JMU friend Mark Nelson at the game. The JMU football team has a big playoff game this Saturday in Harrisonburg as they pursue another national championship. Go JMU Dukes!
