TOMORROW: In light of elevated conversations around race and racism, the Lunch & Learn: Teen Racial Understanding session will share information on how youth can use their voice to contribute to these conversations, and how teens are using their voice to express their thoughts, concerns and ideas in a brave manner that seeks to bridge, and not divide.

The session will begin with NC State Extension's Dr. Maru Gonzalez providing some background information and context around racial understanding which will be followed by a youth panel Q&A session.

Dr. Gonzales is an Assistant Professor and Youth Development Specialist in the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences at North Carolina State University. Currently, Dr. Gonzalez is Program Director for #PassTheMicYouth, a youth-led podcast and blog which aims to amplify youth voices, shine a spotlight on youth activism, and provide educators with resources for cultivating critical consciousness.
