Jamie Ager is seeking to be the first Democrat to win North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District in nearly a decade and a half.
At an event at his farm, Hickory Nut Gap, his supporters were enthusiastic about his chances of defeating Republican Jennifer Balkcom in the November election.
The race is expected to be among the most competitive in the country, with Sabato’s Crystal Ball rating it as one of 22 “toss-up” races.
As western North Carolina approaches the two-year anniversary of Hurricane Helene, Ager says supporting the region in its recovery from the storm is among his top priorities if elected.
