⚓️ Happy 128th Birthday to the U.S. Navy Hospital Corps! 🎂
Today, in Lemoore we celebrated 128 years of the most decorated rate in the U.S. military. Established on June 17, 1898, the Hospital Corps has grown from a small group of dedicated caregivers into the most respected and honored enlisted rating in the United States Navy.

The celebration kicked off early this morning with a high-energy, corpsman-style workout! To keep active-duty members hydrated after working up a sweat, the Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Lemoore Coalition of Sailors Against Destructive Decisions (CSADD) passed out ice cold electrolyte beverages. The CSADD team also held signs reminding everyone to stay safe and make good decisions over the upcoming long holiday weekend.

Following the workout, the command’s sailors gathered across the street at the Naval Reserve Center for a ceremony where everyone learned more about the heroic history of the Hospital Corps rate. Corpsmen dressed in different uniforms told stories of momentous and brave sailors who are a part of Navy history.

In a time-honored cake cutting tradition where the eldest corpsmen present, retired Senior Chief Cons Alvarez (enlisted September 1981) and Command Master Chief Eric Morgan (enlisted May 1999), passed a piece of birthday cake to the youngest corpsman, Hospitalman Jozlynn Esquivel (enlisted July 2025). The passing of the cake is a symbol of sharing decades of wisdom and experience to the next generation of corpsmen leaders.

"Green means good, red means adjust." 🟢🔴

For sailors at Naval Health Clinic Lemoore, logging DMHRSi timecards hours went from an administrative guessing game to a streamlined process, thanks to an innovative Excel dashboard built by HM1 Jordan Cooper!

But Cooper says the tool is only half the battle. "The real difference is made by the leaders who use it and take the time to educate their sailors on why it matters."

Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Lemoore hosted Force Master Chief of BUMED Jerry Cantorna who also serves as the director of the U.S. Navy’s Hospital Corps.

Cantorna has deep roots in our community where he grew up in the Central Valley and spent multiple command master chief (CMC) tours in Lemoore as the clinic CMC and Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 125 CMC.

The top hospital corpsman shared a message of clarity and purpose when he spoke openly about the reality of Lemoore’s location and the challenges of modern fighter jet training. He emphasized the importance of the work we do at Naval Health Clinic Lemoore at the Navy’s West Coast Master Jet Base and why it is so critical to the broader Navy mission.

🏥💻These days, everyone juggles multiple logins for the many services we access online. The Military Health System is making life a little easier by switching to myAuth—a simpler, more streamlined login authentication application across its online platforms.

You’re probably familiar with DS Logon, the legacy system for accessing TRICARE-related platforms and many other government sites. With DS Logon sunsetting by the end of fiscal year 2026, each of the platforms that support your TRICARE benefit will switch from DS Logon to myAuth. milConnect and ID Card Office Online have already made this switch.

Read to learn about what this means for you.
